Vestibular Rehabilitation
– Regain stability
Vestibular rehabilitation aims to restore vestibular function and train the central nervous system to effectively decrease symptoms of disease or injury.
Vestibular Rehab can help:
- Restore balance
- Ease concentration
- Decrease nausea and motion sensitivity
- Reduce headaches and gaze instability
- Decrease light and noise sensitivity
Common vestibular disorders include dizziness, vertigo, gaze instability, imbalance and falls. Vertigo can be caused by both peripheral (inner ear and vestibular nerve) and central (stroke, MS, medications & psychiatric) disorders. BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) is the most common cause of vertigo and is responsible for 50% of all dizziness.
Our therapists have additional training in the area of vestibular rehabilitation and can offer an evidence-based program specifically designed to treat these disorders.
